What makes your jewelry unique?
Every piece I make is one-of-a-kind. I like to think of each piece I make as a blank canvas, and to challenge myself expressively and compositionally with each piece. Some pieces have a narrative quality, some are more about form, and I think of some as a sort of haiku.
Why is sustainability important to your art?
I am deeply committed to nature and nature’s preservation. Many of the materials that I find interesting from the natural world are quite small. I like to invite people to look closely.
What do you do to give back?
In addition to my career as an artist I am also a psychotherapist. I value the processes of deep observation and exploration in both fields, and it is my honor to work with and support others.
What do you hope your art inspires in others?
I hope people will be inspired to take note of the extraordinary wonders of nature that exist all around us, often in quite ordinary places.
