Welcome to our gallery's latest exhibition, "Sacred," where we proudly present an exquisite collection of hand-printed and hand-embroidered tapestries inspired by the enchanting world of the Pagan Sabbats. These captivating artworks by Phoenixville artist, Kenzie De, are borne from her 2023 Altar Card Collection, which delves into the rich tapestry of the eight Pagan Sabbats, infusing them with intricate craftsmanship and profound symbolism.
About the Collection: Each tapestry in this collection serves as a visual ode to the eight Pagan Sabbats, embodying the essence of these sacred holidays through a mesmerizing blend of hand-printed designs and delicate hand-embroidered details. These tapestries encapsulate the reverence for nature, community, and our ancestral connections that lie at the heart of the Pagan Sabbats.
Inspiration: Drawing inspiration from the cycles of nature and the ancient wisdom of the Pagan traditions, this collection captures the essence of each Sabbat - from the vitality of Ostara's dawn to the reflective introspection of Yule's winter solstice. The imagery vividly reflects the interconnectedness of all living beings and the profound ways in which we interact with our environment.
Community Altar for Samhain: Join us on a journey into the depths of Samhain, the sacred festival that honors our ancestors and celebrates the thin veil between worlds. As a testament to the importance of community and remembrance, our gallery will host a community altar created by Kenzie within its sacred space. This altar welcomes all who wish to participate in honoring their ancestors, embracing the collective wisdom of the past, and sharing their personal connections.
About the Artist:
Kenzie De is a mixed media artist and printmaker working and living in the Greater Philadelphia Area. She works broadly within the theme of exploring and defining what femininity means to her and her love for the occult and all things magical.
